Best Face Masks for Rosacea

When rosacea flares up it can be so disheartening. It's so hard to know what caused it and especially how to treat it. You want to just put something on your face to soothe it and calm it down, but are afraid to cause even more irritation. These are masks that I have been using for a while now and seem to help soothe my skin.

This is by far my favorite mask. I like to use this once a week while I'm in the bathtub before bed. When you take it off you can rub all the serum into the skin (make sure to use the extra on the décolletage) and go to bed. It gives my skin a super-concentrated dose of all the Tacha miracle goodness. That miracle is the special blend of Japanese anti-aging superfoods: a fermentation of green tea, rice, and algae—ingredients at the heart of the Japanese diet and time-tested skincare rituals. It leaves my skin looking luminous, brighter, glowy, and calms all the redness. It contains Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and a high concentration of botanical oils and extracts, nourishes the skin from within, leaving it velvety smooth, dewy, and luminous. When I use this before bed I wake up with visibly less redness and infalmation.

I love this mask for a quick pick me up in the morning. It is so easy to apply before getting in the shower. I leave it on while I shower and then remove it after I get out. It is a creamy, hydrating vitamin C mask that prevents the signs of premature aging. It contains Japanese beautyberry, two types of vitamin C, and 10% AHAs from seven fruit extracts. It can help to improve skin texture, brighten skin tone, and unveil a soft, dewy glow. And best of all it doesn't cause my skin to freak out.

It's tough to find a "peel" type of mask for rosacea, but this one is super gentle. It is a creamy mask that exfoliates gently and refines skin texture. I like to use this about two to three times a month to keep my pores clean and unclogged. In the summer I use it more often, about once a week. For even deeper cleansing, I pair it with a mud mask. A gentle option is the Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay First uses the glycolic mask for 10-15 minutes. Then remove and use the clay mask to help draw out any impurities and toxins. The Origins mask is gentle and does have a little exfoliation too. I only use this when my skin is oily and needs an extra deep sweep in the summer. The rose clay in the Origins mask helps to calm the skin too.

If you get rosacea with bumps, it can be hard to treat the underlying congestion. Anything that exfoliates can be too harsh and you run the risk of adding even more irritation to the skin. The Caudalie Glycolic Peel is gentle and doesn't aggravate my rosacea. It helps to sweep away the debris that can clog up pores and make the skin look dull and textured. I absolutely love this mask.

This one feels really calming in addition to adding hydration to my skin. I always bring this with me when I travel by plane (remember those days). As soon as I get to my hotel I wash my face and apply this mask for a quick boost of hydration. This mask is a silky gel with real rose petals suspended inside, it gently soothes and tones with a plumping effect.

I just started using this mask, but am in love from day one. It is great for adding hydration and calming redness. It claims to have thousands of different sizes of hyaluronic acid to replenish moisture for exquisite hydration. Different sizes of hyaluronic acid work on different levels to quench dry skin from the inside out. Flower complexes soothe redness and even skin tone, while vitamins and minerals nourish and comfort stressed-out skin.
