Hi Lovelies!
How’s your summer going? I’ve been traveling and just finished a two-week Decadent Detox cleanse, so I am doing a little change up to my fitness routine this week. I like to change things up every once in while and set new goals for myself. I've been doing tons of Pilates and Barre, but I've been noticing that my planks aren't getting any better. Could be that I have a shoulder injury I need to fix, but it also got me thinking I really need to add in some strength training to build my upper body strength.
That got me thinking that I wanted to share more of my full morning routine — everything I do before and after I work out to get ready for my day!
My days are usually packed with work meetings, appointments, and running my daughter around, so the mornings are my time to get centered and focus on my self-care. To stay sane I try to stay consistent with my morning routine. When I start the day this way, I feel more grounded, balanced, and energized!
Here’s a peek at my usual schedule:

5:45 AM: Wake up, let the dog out and make myself a cup of warm water with lemon. While I drink that I make myself a matcha latte or a coffee latte.
6:00 AM: I sit down to meditate. I do a 10-minute meditation every morning followed by journaling. I either do free writing or write down 3 things I am grateful for.
6:30 AM: I read something non-fiction, this is a time for me to learn something new. I either read a business book or something related to spiritual development. Here are a few recent picks:
If I am driving to a Barre class, I will listen to a book in the car and count that as my "reading" time.

7:00 AM: This is my workout time. My new routine is 2 days a week I do Barre, 1 day of Pilates reformer class and then I'll mix in 2 strength training workouts (my go to is the Tone It Up app), 2-3 cardio workouts (on Peloton bike or TIU app) and 1 yoga routine. It will look something like this:
Sunday- Pilates reformer
Monday- Yoga & TIU Stretch
Tuesday- Pure Barre
Wednesday- TIU Strength & TIU Stretch
Thursday- Barre & Cardio (a Peloton HIIT ride or walk)
Friday- TIU Strength workout & an evening walk
Saturday- A Peloton bike ride or TIU cardio

8:30 AM: I hit the shower and get dressed. Check out this post for my super simple summer skincare routine or my even simpler vacation routine.
9:30 AM: Post-workout, I always refuel with a smoothie to replenish my muscles. My favorite right now is this green smoothie I like to call green-a-colada since it tastes like healthy version of a pina colada.
Ingredients:
1 scoop Tone It Up vanilla protein
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 frozen banana
1 cup spinach, fresh or frozen
1 cup boxed coconut milk
2 Tbsp. flax seeds
(optional) a scoop of green powder
Directions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth.

After this, I’m ready to take on my day!
I hope this serves as inspiration for your own morning routine. Even if you take an extra 10 minutes to journal, meditate, or sip your matcha or coffee, it makes all the difference in your day!
