Salted Caramel Smoothie

Writer's picture: Kristi SawickiKristi Sawicki

This smoothie is a perfect afternoon snack or post-workout beverage that will satisfy any craving for sweet and/or creamy. It's like a healthy milkshake, without any guilt. In fact, it's full of collagen protein that supports hair & nail, skin, joint and digestive health. And tahini is highly nutritious, rich in antioxidants, and even contains anti-inflammatory compounds.

INGREDIENTS:

1 scoop Perfect Keto salted caramel collagen (could also use vanilla)

1 handful frozen zucchini (peel, chop, and freeze overnight)

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 T vanilla bean tahini (or any tahini)

dash cinnamon

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Top with a dash of cinnamon. Enjoy!

This tahini (Soom vanilla bean) is seriously amazing. It does have sugar, so I only use 1 tablespoon, but you can substitute with unsweetened tahini and add a dash of vanilla extract. I have to be careful to not eat the whole jar. They also have a dark chocolate flavor that would be good in this recipe as well.

The zucchini has no taste but makes a great addition to any smoothie as it blends up creamy. Zucchini is packed with many important vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It has high fiber content and a low-calorie count. Fiber plays an important role in digestion and may limit the likelihood of suffering from a variety of GI issues. If you don't have any frozen zucchini, you can use frozen bananas. But, trust me try the zucchini next time!
